Sarah House provides lodging in a healing environment primarily for relatives and loved ones of adult patients seeking medical treatment outside their own community. It is the only residence of it’s kind in the Syracuse area.

Sarah House was created in response to the need for shelter and emotional support for family members visiting seriously ill patients in our Syracuse area hospitals.

Many of us have had a loved one who has been hospitalized away from home for an extended period of time. We can relate to the stress that this kind of experience introduces to our lives - sleepless nights, financial worries, and anxiety over the eventual diagnosis, as well as being in an unfamiliar city away from friends and family.

As a guest of Sarah House, you’ll share our hospitality with other families in similar circumstances - people who can relate to you and your present needs and experiences. Sarah House serves its guests by providing a home that cares.

Below is a brief history video graciously presented by a group of students at nearby LeMoyne College. Students include: Gerald Murray, Alexis Grace, Corey Bulken, and Nikki Fornatoro. Their professor for the course was Ann Allen from the Department of Communication and Film Studies.
